The Least You Need to Know

THE EXPO, BIBS & BAG CHECK

The NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon Expo will take place at ZeroSpace in Gowanus on Friday, April 26 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you didn’t get it mailed, this is where you go to pick up your race bib and t-shirt. There is no race day bib and shirt pickup.

If you are getting your bib at the expo, your start wave and corral will be assigned on pickup. There is more info on waves and corrals here.

The expo is the only way to check a bag (there will be no race day bag check.) You can also buy gear, grab a Sixpoint beer and more.

GETTING TO THE START

We strongly recommend that you take public transit to the start at McCarren Park. Take the L to Bedford Avenue or the G to Lorimer/Metropolitan. We do not recommend the G to Nassau Avenue as street closures will make it difficult to walk from there to start. There is very limited street parking. Available garages are listed on SpotHero, but may be inaccessible the morning of the race.

Transportation recommendations are subject to change. Please check back closer to race day for updates.

THE START

The start of the NYCRUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon is a high security area. You will need to show your race bib to gain entry.

Please arrive within the time designated for the wave you’re running in. You will not be able to pass through security if you arrive early. You cannot change to an earlier wave on race day.

All runners will pass through security, including a metal detector, to enter the start corrals. No bags will be allowed through security. If you bring additional layers of clothing, you must be wearing them. Weapons of any kind, flammable liquids, fireworks, toxic chemicals, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, blankets, or any other item that security deems dangerous are strictly prohibited and will be confiscated.

WAVES & CORRALS

Your wave and corral will be assigned when you receive your bib. Both your wave and corral assignment are based on the pace you submitted upon registering. Your submitted pace is visible in your registration history on your NYCRUNS Dashboard.

Bibs cannot be exchanged on race day, nor can your wave or corral be reassigned. Runners will not be able to gain entry to an earlier wave start than what they are assigned to on their bib. Runners will be able to gain entry to start waves that are later than their assigned wave.

Wave 1: Starts at 7 AM. You must pass through security between 5 AM and 6 AM.

Wave 2: Starts at 7:30 AM. You must pass through security between 5 AM and 7 AM.

Wave 3: Starts at 8:00 AM. You must pass through security between 7:00 AM and 7:45 AM.

Wave 4: Starts at 8:30 AM. You must pass through security between 7:30 AM and 8:15 AM.

Please do not show up any earlier than instructed above. You will not be able to pass through security and take advantage of pre start amenities beforehand.
